-
What Are My Options? There are three types of dentures available- partial dentures, complete dentures, and implant dentures. When you visit your denturist for a consultation, your denturist will examine the condition of your teeth, bone, and gums to determine the right option for you. Complete dentures are recommended for people who have lost all their natural teeth, while partial dentures are for people who are looking to fill the gap left behind after the loss of one or more teeth.
-
Is It Possible to Sleep with Dentures?Yes, it is possible to sleep with your dentures once you get used to them. But it is recommended that you remove your dentures at night so that your bones and gums get some time to relax. You should also clean your dentures properly to maintain oral hygiene.
-
How Do I Know If My Dentures Need a Reline? If you have been using dentures for a long time, it is a good idea to visit your denturist for a reline service. Another reason to go for a reline is when you feel discomfort or pain while wearing your dentures.
-
How Long Will My Dentures Last?As your gums and bones keep changing, your dentures become loose or tight, causing discomfort. The longevity of your dentures depends on a lot of things, such as your oral hygiene and denture care. On average, a partial or a denture may be expected to last about 5–8 years. Sometimes the dentures themselves are in reasonable shape and have tooth life in it, but the mouth has changed so drastically that you have to start over again.
-
My Dentures Have Become Loose; What Should I Do?Your dentures may become loose after some time as your mouth keeps changing constantly. Whenever you feel your dentures are not fitting right, visit your denturist for a denture reline service. Your denturist will readjust your dentures.
